I turned it down

She explained: “When I first started doing Loose Women, I turned it down at first because I didn’t think I could do it.

“My agent at the time was furious and said, ‘Yes, you are going to do it.’ And quite right because I have been there 13 years now!”

When she first began working on the show, Andrea would often “pretend” she was long-term anchor Kaye Adams.

The former GMTV presenter revealed: “When I first started, I used to have to pretend I was Kaye Adams.

“So literally I would sit there, and I would think, ‘What would Kaye Adams do?'”

“I just pretended I was someone else,” she added.

Andrea admitted that during the “first few months” of filming Loose Women, she “acted” her way through it.

“I acted the role of being an anchor and then gradually the nerves went,” she said

However, eventually, she began to feel more confident and relaxed on the popular discussion show.

“Now it’s something I do without thinking, it’s my it’s and I love doing it, but that was probably the first job where I felt imposter syndrome.”

The star joined Loose Women back in 2008 after initially filling in for Jackie Brambles while she was on maternity leave.

On Jackie’s return to the show, it was announced that Andrea would share the position with her going forward.

Back in May, Andrea spoke out on how she and Nick had attended marriage counselling.

On Loose Women, she spoke of going to therapy after suffering a private breakdown.

The mum-of-two said: “I had a breakdown last year which is not something I’ve spoken about, but I did.

“If it had happened this year, then I would have been in trouble, but I’ve worked on things and got support.”

Loose Women continues today at 12.30pm on ITV.
