Bill Bailey, 56, took to the National Film Awards red carpet yesterday evening, joined by his beloved wife Kristin. The couple, who have been married since 1998, posed for a rare photo as they attended the annual awards ceremony to celebrate the achievements of filmmakers, actors, actresses, casting directors, production companies and crew who make up the motion picture industry.
The actor, who won Strictly Come Dancing in 2020 alongside dance partner Oti Mabuse, looked dapper as he donned a black suit.
He teamed his outfit with blue lens shades and a sequin mask, featuring a beard and mustache.
Kristin complimented her hubby’s attire perfectly with a black ensemble teamed with a leopard print headpiece.
And in her hands, she appeared to be carrying a toy dog, perhaps a novelty bag.
In another shot, Bill looked as though he was missing his days on the BBC show, grinning while showing off a few dance moves in front of the photographers.
And while he proved he had what it takes to win the competition last year, Oti recently admitted she never expected to win while being partnered with him.
The professional dancer has won the title two years running, with her first win in 2019 with Kelvin Fletcher.
Chatting to Sunday Brunch hosts Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer, she shared her thoughts on her 2020 experience, heaping praise on her partner.
She said: “He’s an amazing guy. He’s a musician, he’s sweet, he’s so hard working.
“But it was the investment Bill was putting in. He was watching movies, watching professional competitive dancers, reading books, he was really invested in it,” she explained.
Tim agreed with Oti’s praise of Bill, adding: “He’s such a lovely guy.”
“Yes he’s amazing and he’s so much fun as well. I know a lot of people go, ‘Is he funny?’ and I’m like, ‘He’s a comedian!’” Oti said.
Tim went on to ask Oti if she really originally thought Bill could win the dancing contest.
“Not in the beginning. Not in the beginning. Actually, not even in the final!” Oti admitted while laughing.
“The thing is I didn’t go easy on him. I didn’t take it easy on him at all!”
