Billie Faiers has praised her mum Suzie Wells for being "so strong" throughout her and sister Samantha's difficult childhood.

The 30 year old, who recently shared an emotional birthday tribute to Sam as she left her 20s behind, explained that they could've been left "damaged" by what they experienced growing up if it hadn't been for their mother.

Speaking to Fabulous, she expressed how close they all are as she said: "We call ourselves the Three Musketeers. We are inseparable. We always say we have the best times when we’re together, just the three of us."

Sam and Billie's biological father Lee Faiers split from their mum when they were young children after a troubled history of what brunette beauty Sam said in her autobiography – Secrets and Lies: The Truth Behind the Headlines – was "out of control drinking" and "drug use".

After Lee left the picture, Billie, then 12, and then-11 year old Sam's stepfather Dave Chatwood was jailed for 12 years, according to the publication.

It meant Suzie, 50, was left to bring up her two girls all by herself. Yet, while Billie described the ordeal as "horrible", she gushed over how well her mum handled the situation.

"Obviously it was horrible and really sad, but Mum held it together so well that me and Samantha were always OK," she said. "At the ages we were it could have been very damaging, but my mum was amazing.

"We’re really lucky that she is so strong and she stayed strong throughout that situation."

Although she now understands the sacrifices Suzie made for her, Billie explained that at the time she couldn't see it so clearly.

The TV personality, who recently revealed the best way to unwind using The OK! Beauty Edit, continued: “When you’re a teenager you can be selfish and think the world revolves around you. It’s when you become a mum yourself that it makes you realise everything your own mum has done for you.

"It wasn’t even a situation where she chose to split up with my dad. He was taken away from her and us, and just thinking of the sacrifices she made for us as a single parent makes us so appreciative."

After everything Suzie has been through, Billie now wants to see her mum find someone nice to settle down with as she added: "I think it would be really nice to have someone wine and dine her.

"But she’s so busy and has got so used to being independent. To her she’s like: ‘I don’t need a man’ and obviously I know she doesn’t, but it would be so nice to see her get treated by someone else.

"She says she could never live with a man again, but I think it’s about getting used to the idea and I think it would be lovely for her if she could. We’ve said to her that 2021 is her year."
