The Chase host Bradley Walsh had his professional football hopes brought to an end after he sustained injuries aged just 18. However, he has admitted these still plague him many years on as he shared his wife’s cheeky comment about his desire to still pay.

Bradley is much-loved as an actor and host, and is currently appearing weekly on the television drama The Larkins.

However, he has also shared how behind the scenes he is still suffering from his football days.

He admitted in an interview back in July how he wished he’d never kicked a ball.

The presenter said: “Nowadays at 61 I’m suffering with my knees and ankles.

“My fitness, my general fitness, thank God, is good. But my knees and ankles…”

Despite this, the star still takes part in Soccer Aid every year.

Although, he’s admitted his wife has given him a cheeky warning about this.

Bradley explained: “My wife’s got a great saying, she says, ‘You never see a couch potato in the osteopaths’.

“True, but I love being part of Soccer Aid every year and being with the lads.”

The Chase host has been married to his wife Donna Derby since 1997.

She’s no stranger to the limelight herself and used to be a dancer.

In the 1980s, she appeared in Robert Palmer’s music video Simply Irresistible as well as several episodes of The Kenny Everett Television Show.

Donna also worked on choreographing the dancers for Miss World.

Bradley has previously opened up about how much he loves his wife.

Speaking to The Mirror back in 2006, he said: “I wouldn’t swap my missus for the world.

“Donna isn’t just beautiful, she’s the most fantastic wife and mother.”

The couple have one son together, Barney, who has starred with Bradley in Breaking Dad.

The Chase host also has another daughter called Hayley from a previous relationship.

Bradley will be returning to screens tonight in the latest episode of The Larkins.

The remake of The Darling Buds of May is currently airing on ITV on Sunday evenings at 6pm.
