Dan Walker has spoken out on Friday’s highly-anticipated Strictly Come Dancing launch show as he sent the new paritcipants some words of encouragement. The Channel 5 presenter and his pro dance partner, Nadiya Bychkova, made it all the way through to the quarter-finals of the hit dance competition last year.
Taking to Twitter last night, Dan revealed he would like Nadiya to win this year alongside her new celebrity partner Matt Goss.
In his tweet, shared in view of his 775,200 followers, Dan shared his hopes that the new contestants will “enjoy the experience”.
He typed: “Looking forward to meeting the @bbcstrictly class of 2022 tonight.
“I hope they are all able to enjoy the experience and make some brilliant memories and friends.”
Dan added: “And… come on @NadiyaBychkova… this is the year to go and conquer the glitter ball.”
The broadcaster later admitted he was not able to watch the launch show as he had been watching the football.
He asked his followers to fill him in on the latest Strictly developments by sending him “three headlines”.
Dan wrote: “Missed the #Strictly launch show because of the footy and a long train journey home.
