Danniella Westbrook ‘hates’ seeing Harry treated like ‘second class citizen’ at funeral

FormerEastEndersstarDanniella Westbrookhas said her "heart breaks" at seeingPrince Harrybeing treated like a “second class citizen” at his grandmother’s funeral.

The TV star, 48, who played Sam Mitchell in the BBC soap, tweeted during the state funeral for the lateQueen Elizabeth IIto say she felt the late Queen’s grandson had been treated quite badly.

Danniella pointed out that Harry is the son of the newKing Charlesand has already suffered greatly following the death of his mother,Diana, Princess of Walesin 1997.

The Duke of Sussex was not allowed to wear military uniform or salute the Queen’s coffin at the funeral, as he is no longer a working royal.

Danniella wrote: "Poor prince harry my heart breaks for that kid, not allowed his uniform or to salute… cant they just bloody let it go, his then king's son and it’s gran's funeral as well hate seeing him being treated like a second class citizen after all his been through with losing his mother."

She then added: “I know it’s because his not a paid royal but as a mother makes me sad to see him be so outcast x”

Prince Andrew was also barred from wearing military uniform and salute the coffin, having been stripped of his working royal status and HRH title following revelations surrounding his friendship with convicted peadophile Jeffrey Epstein.

Earlier this year, the disgraced Princesettled a civil case with Virginia Giuffre, who alleges that the he sexually assaulted her when she was trafficked by Epstein. Andrew has vehemently denied the claim.

The Queen was saluted twice on her funeral day, once outside Westminster Abbey and before her coffin was taken from Wellington Arch in the centre of London to Windsor, with the King leading his family and numerous military personnel in both salutes.

The Dukes of Sussex and York could not take part in the salute as it is tradition that this duty is only performed by those in uniform.

Both Princes had previously been granted special permission to wear uniform while standing vigil at the Queen’s coffin in Westminster Hall, but this did not carry over to the day of the funeral.

Prince Harry has served two tours in Afghanistan but was stripped of his military titles after he stepped down as working royal.

Danniella wasn’t the only one heartbroken over Harry’s uniform ban, one royal fan tweeted: “So Prince Edward, who dropped out of Military Service after 4 weeks, is there in full Military Uniform, with a chest full of medals.

“Prince Harry, after 10 years Service and 2 tours of Afghanistan, is not allowed to wear his Uniform. Disgraceful!!”

And another wrote: “The way I see it, they can tell him he can't wear his uniform & all but the WHOLE ENTIRE WORLD knows #PrinceHarry earned ALL those medals he got for serving his country.”
