Dua Lipa Just Wore the Leather Trench Coat of Our Dreams

Dua Lipa’s It-girl style is taking on New York City.

The pop star headed out to the 36th annual Footwear News Achievement Awards last night, where she made a statement in a cobalt blue leather trench coat. She layered the piece, hailing from Luar’s spring 2023 runway, over a sweeping black maxi dress with a triangle cutout on the chest. She finished the ensemble with black chunky sneakers from her collaboration with Puma.

Accessories included pearl earrings from Rainbow K and a blue fuzzy heart-shaped bag with silver spikes adorning the sides.

The “Don’t Start Now” singer dropped her second collection, dubbed Flutur 2, with the footwear giant back in July. The line offered a generous range for the athleisure crowd, including matching co-ord sets, velour tank dresses, sporty miniskirts, color-blocked bowling bags, and chunky platform sneakers.

Lipa played a large part in Flutur 2’s campaign, posing alongside her dancers while repping the collaboration’s clothes. The photos, shot by New Jersey–born photographer Jordan Hemingway, took inspiration from retro rave culture, highlighting a vibrant color palette and holographic details. The collection also relied on a key motif: a butterfly lettermark Lipa saw on rave flyers.

“The butterfly represents transition, metamorphosis, and new beginnings. I felt like in the beginning, when I first started working on drop one, the butterfly already had a lot of meaning for me,” the singer said in a statement at the time. “Now, going into the second drop, that meaning has just solidified itself and become even more important in my life. It feels like everything progressed and manifested itself in that way.”
