Emmerdale star Charley Webb says she often feels like she’s sinking as she struggles with lockdown and homeschooling

Emmerdale’s Charley Webb has opened up about the pressures of lockdown and homeschooling, admitting that there are days where she feels like she’s “sinking a little bit”.

Taking to her Instagram story to check in with her social media following, Charley, 32, said she had experienced a tough day when looking after her children – Buster, 10, Bowie, 5, and baby Ace.

Charley said: “Yesterday was just not the day for me. At all,” before later going on to confess: “Some days I just feel like I'm sinking a little bit."

Explaining that her boys have been battling against doing their school work, Charley opened up about the mounting pressure she felt.

She said: “Bowie had his Zoom and then he had a little bit of work to do and he didn't want to do it. He said, 'Nope.’”

"I said, 'Alright. No problem. Don't do it.' I'm not having those battles. I just can't. Buster is a different story. He really does need to do it. But the pressure…" she added.

Charley then went on to encourage her followers by saying they are all in this together every step of the way.

She said: “I think we all just need to give ourselves a break. We're in circumstances that we never thought we would be in.”

"And it's not just the homeschooling, it's everything. Some days I just feel like I'm sinking a little bit."

However, the actress, who is married to fellow Emmerdale star Matthew Wolfenden, went on to say that after every bad day a good one can follow.

She continued: “Today has been a lot less stressful. I think I've taken the pressure off a little bit.

“I'm not one of those mums that's like, 'You have to do this!' But sometimes I feel the pressures from outside of my life. Do you know what I mean?"

And the star continued that she was also feeling better and having a better day, but wanted to be open with everyone.

She explained: “Today feels a lot better. We all have those days and I think people need to be honest about it because I don't know anyone who’s having those days. Trust me."

Charley recently made a surprise return to ITV soap Emmerdale after going on maternity leave.
