He captioned the post: “I didn’t take the picture.”

Sid also left a message in the comments that said: “Ssshhh. Don’t tell the misses.”

Fans could not quite believe what they were seeing.

One said: “OMG… You didn’t just do that!”

Another jokingly said: “when you got to go you gotta go.”(sic)

EastEnders co-star Dean Gaffney said: “She knew it was being taken! Lol x.”

To which Sid replied: “Didn’t know I would post it lol.”

In the ‘scenic’ selfie Sid is wearing stylish black Ray Bans as well as a white t-shirt and a black backpack.

His girlfriend, Victoria, can be seen in the background, holding her hand up as she did not want to be disturbed.

Sid and Victoria live together and have been together since last year.

He told The Sun he was in a relationship with the restaurant worker whom he met 23 years prior.

They rekindled their relationship last year and have been going from strength to strength.

Sid has been engaged twice prior to this relationship.

He popped the question to dancer Cary Hubbard in 2000 but they separated in 2003.

The soap star’s next serious relationship was with presenter Polly Parsons.

This did not last and they separated in 2012.

Sid began his time on EastEnders in 1988 where he played Ricky Butcher until 2000.

He then rejoined the soap in 2012, and left the show after an extraordinary 24 years.

The former soap star’s life story is detailed in his new book: From Rags to Ricky.
