Viewers have been left heartbroken after the moment Jade Goody was diagnosed with cancer was aired during a documentary about her life.
Jade: The Reality Star Who Changed Britain has been documenting the life and legacy of the Big Brother star ten years after her death at the age of 27.
The Channel 4 documentary aired its final instalment on Wednesday night, charting the final days of the reality TV star.
The last episode in the series started with Jade travelling to India to star on the 2008 series of Bigg Boss, the country's version of the show that made her famous.
She appeared as a housemate on the show to try and change the country's perception of her following the racism row between her and Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, which occurred on Celebrity Big Brother the year before.
But just days into her stint, Jade was called into the Diary Room to be told she had been diagnosed with cervical cancer.
Viewers rushed to Twitter to announce they were left "heartbroken" by the scenes, which saw an inconsolable Jade sobbing on the floor of the house.
One fan of the late star wrote: "I didn't know she got the news about her illness on TV. Horrible," while a second added: "AS IF Jade was finding out she had Cancer ON TV and they put up the voting numbers holy s**t."
Another chimed: "Oh f**king hell she found out about her cancer in India. Of all the insensitive ways to tell her man for real that's grim."
A fourth said: "Woah! I can’t believe they showed that! Is nothing sacred at all??? That was sickening."
While another wrote: "Why did someone think letting her have a phone call like that live on air was good for the public to see?"
Remembering Jade Goody
"So heartbreaking to watch the moment Jade Goody was told about her cancer," a sixth fan told their followers.
Another added: "How horrendous must it have been to get a cancer diagnosis in the Big Brother diary room."
A final fan slammed the decision to air the scenes, writing: "Wow did they really broadcast Jade being diagnosed with cancer on TV? That’s disgusting."
Viewers also watched the final days of Jade's life, which saw her marry then fiancé Jack Tweed just one month before she died.
Friends and family members recalled the day, devastatingly revealing that Jade was "in excruciating pain" throughout the ceremony.
