Kourtney Kardashian has been criticised for allowing her nine year old daughter Penelope to dye her head red.

In a post shared to her Instagram on Thursday 26 August, the 42 year old American beauty shared a snap of the youngster, who she shares with ex Scott Disick, delightedly touching her new brighter locks.

Taking to her Stories later, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star shared insight into the dye job with a snap of Penelope's hair wrapped in a bun with red hair dye smudged on her neck and clothes.

Kourtney seemed pleased with her daughter's new look as she added several red emojis under the picture on her grid.

However, not everyone seemed to be a fan of the "inappropriate" new look, with some of her followers asking why she had "ruined" Penelope's hair.

"You let her dye her hair? Kind of weird," one person wrote while another added: "I don't think colouring hair at such a young age is good. Not allowed in my house."

A third added: "My god, all these small kids getting their hair coloured. What's wrong with today's parents, idk man."

A fourth penned: "So pretty but I hope it's the temporary spray. She has beautiful hair already."

Others leapt to Kourtney's defence with her longtime pal Sarah Howard saying Penelope looked like: "Ariel from little mermaid."

"Princess P," another added with a third labelled her the "coolest girl ever".

Kourtney recently saw a hair transformation of her own as she switched up her signature long tresses for a modern choppy bob.

The reality star and businesswoman, who is loved-up with Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker, has been flaunting her gorgeous new look on social media.

Considering that her hair usually falls around her waist, we're sure you'll agree that this is a rather dramatic makeover.
