Luke Combs has made Time‘s list of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2021, which was released on Wednesday, February 17.
Combs is the only country artist that has been named to the magazine’s second-annual Time100 Next list. The individuals were selected come from the worlds of music, public health, sports, philanthropy, acting and elsewhere.
“In this age of self-promotion, Luke Combs is letting everybody else do the talking for him. That’s big in country music, which is all about sincerity and humility,” wrote fellow country star Garth Brooks, who penned Combs’ Time100 Next profile.
“And—despite his achievements, including winning Best Album at the 2020 Country Music Awards—Luke has both of those in spades,” Brooks added. “He realizes that being a star is not up to him: the people will confirm it.”
Comb’s 2019 sophomore album, What You See Is What You Get, recently achieved double Platinum RIAA certification.
