Mark Wright forced to grovel to 'livid' Michelle Keegan after ruining Christmas

Mark Wright has had to apologise to his wife Michelle Keegan after ruining Christmas.

The star opened up on Heart radio about how the pair are having the actress’s Northern family down for the festive period.

But despite Michelle having a whole Christmas Eve tradition planned, it seems the Towie star will not be participating – and didn’t do last year, either.

Explaining the situation to his listeners, the 32-year-old said: ‘My wife’s family tradition are getting in pyjamas, sitting in front of the TV, watching a Christmas film and having a bit table, which if you don’t understand what that means it’s like sausage rolls, prawns, chicken nuggets and kind having picky bits whilst you’re watching a film.

‘A very cute night but I’m used to going out clubbing Christmas Eve.’

He laughed: ‘There’s a pub right next to mine and my wife’s house. All my mates go in there. All my family go in there. Everyone from the village. The Christmas tunes are on.’

Confessing that he took his father-in-law down to the local last year, the star joked about how they forgot about the ‘bits table’.

The TV personality smirked: ‘To punish us they didn’t text us to hurry up to tell us it was ready they expected us to know. So what we did, we went home a bit too late, walked in, faces like thunder, food was cold. And I mean they were livid.

‘There was no coming back, I was like, “oh no I’ve ruined their family tradition,” her stepdad’s never been in trouble on Christmas Eve.’

But despite upsetting the Our Girl star last year, it turns out Mark refuses to compromise and will be heading down to the pub once again next week.

‘So family, from Michelle’s side, if you think I’m having a bits table and watching a film, great,’ he said.

‘I’ll do it later. But I’m going down the pub first and if I’m late, I’m pre-apologising ’cause let me tell you, that last Christmas Eve I had to do a lot of grovelling, but by the time Santa came, she was smiling again. Luckily!’

The celebrity couple tied the knot back in 2015 after starting their relationship in the December of 2012.

Mark has recently had to defend their marriage after rumours started to swirl the duo were on the rocks because of their busy schedules.
