Matt Baker and his wife Nicola Baker recently wrapped up filming their Channel 4 programme, Our Farm On The Dales. The Countryfile presenter’s other half has since taken to Instagram and shared her delight that the family welcomed a new chick to their family farm.

In view of her 23,000 Instagram followers, Nicola posted a sweet close-up photo of the newly-hatched chicken.

She captioned the heartwarming snap: “New Chicks on the Block!” and she added the hashtags: “#chicks #farmlife #newlife.”

Fans flooded the comment section, after the On The Farm star shared the exciting news.

One person penned: “Cuteness overload,” while another commented: “Wonderful.”

A third wrote: “Aah how cute. I really missed your programme last night. 9pm wasn’t the same.”

“You can’t beat it can you seeing new life and watching them grow,” another remarked.

A fifth quipped: “So cute… even with the grumpy face.”

Nicola’s heartwarming post comes after she announced that their series On The Farm had come to an end last week.

The show followed the couple as they moved back to Matt’s family farm in County Durham in order to help out his dad Mike after mum Janice was seriously injured in an accident.

Nicola bid a “fond farewell” after the family wrapped up the Channel 4 series.

She penned: “It’s the last Our Farm in the Dales tonight at 9pm on More4!

“We’ll be saying a fond farewell to the puppies as they head to their forever homes. If you haven’t seen the first few you can catch up on demand on All4.”

Nicola added: “Hope you all enjoy the last one! #puppies #farmlife #family #lastone.”

Matt has since addressed the future of the reality show and admitted he is unsure if there will be a second series.

He explained to the Radio Times: “Well I mean that’s an interesting one because I really wanted my family, my children, my wife, mum and dad to feel the whole process of what it’s like to, you know, be on TV and feeling the motions.

“And until the whole lot has gone out, then it’s impossible to make that decision really.”

Matt added: “At the end of the day, you know, I’ve always put my family first and I always will do and if we decide as a family that we want to keep going or whatever then it’ll be them that make the decision and that’s it.”

Meanwhile, the presenter’s former co-star Alex Jones made an announcement in a candid post.

Matt previously fronted The One Show for over a decade until he shared he was stepping down from his role last year.

Alex revealed that Ronan Keating and Jermaine Jenas will co-present the BBC series.

During periods of absence, presenters including Alex Scott and Amol Rajan will take over as and when required.
