Nadia Essex opens up on feeling horny when pregnant and blasts backlash over Lewis Ellis pictures

I think the trolling that I received and the backlash off the back of the article being pictured with The Apprentice’s Lewis Ellis was something that I didn’t really expect.

You know we are in 2019, there’s no such thing as normal. And it really surprises me that people still have a problem with a single woman living her very best life.

It doesn’t affect anybody who I date, who I hang out with, who I’m sleeping with, what I’m doing. It doesn’t affect anyone else apart from me.

And so therefore it surprises me that people are so critical, I literally had some people telling me I was going to be a bad mum and I should be concentrating on my unborn baby. How you can concentrate on a baby who hasn’t been born I personally couldn’t tell you.

But the fact that I’m a single woman and I’m dating and I’m pregnant just rubs people up the wrong way. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve had a lot of support. Lots and lots of people have reached out and told me that I’ve given them confidence to know that there is life after impregnation.

Because society makes you feel like once you get pregnant, that’s it. No guy is going to fancy you, no guy is going to find you attractive, no guy is going to date you, you’re going to be single.

Now you’ve got baggage and you’re going to have a baby and then a toddler, which is baggage, and it’s going to be very difficult to date as a single mum.

And I think people see me out there doing my thing, a lot of people were really inspired by it. Those are the people that I choose to focus on and look at and reply to as much as I can. Because as I say, we are about to go into 2020 and we have to stop judging women on their lifestyle choices.

I’ve had a tough pregnancy, I’ve been extremely poorly but I felt sexy and I felt good and your hormones are all over the place and when you’re pregnant – I don’t know if it’s the same for everybody – but people that I know and myself included are very horny. It’s one of the side-effects of being pregnant!

And just because I’ve got a baby in my belly doesn’t mean that Nadia ceases to exist, it doesn’t mean that Nadia is wiped off the planet and I’m now a mother and I don’t exist and I’m just this generic Stepford wife style or an incubate for this baby where my whole purpose is to cook this baby in my belly, deliver the baby and then put my life on hold. That’s not the type of mother I’m going to be.

I’ve been called selfish and terrible names, but I’m going to give birth to a boy and I want the boy to understand and respect women and understand that we are human and our choices should be respected and I have to lead by example and live my best life.

I’m not going to give up my identity because I am with child – it’s just not in my nature and it’s not something I would ever do. I’m a strong independent woman and I will continue to be and I will be a great role model for my son so that he doesn’t grow up to be a misogynist.

I think by these stereotypical ideas that you should be married or in a relationship and have 2.4 kids etc, I’m breaking all the boundaries and breaking all the rules and I don’t think there is anything wrong with that.

And like I’ve said, people have said I’ve inspired them and if me living my life and getting on with things inspires them then great!

Lewis is a great guy. He didn’t have the best time on The Apprentice last week but he is by far the hottest person ever on there, so let’s just put things into perspective. He’s hot, I’ve still got it, we are good, life is all good!

That's all from me for now, but stay tuned for my next baby update.
