Piers Morgan headed straight for a pub with his pal Kevin Pietersen after lockdown rules were eased on Saturday, 4 July.

The 55 year old, who recently said Kate Garraway is "living in hope" for her husband Derek's recovery, took to his Instagram feed to share a snap of himself socially distancing with the ex-cricketer outside "London's best restaurant" Cambio de Tercio-Tendido.

Clearly happy to be out and about after three and a half months in isolation, Piers captioned the photo: "So nice to be back at London’s best restaurant Cambio de Tercio.

"Still fabulous food, delicious wine & exceptional service. Shame about Kevin but you can’t have everything in life. Thanks to Abel & the brilliant staff. Great to be back." with two clapping hands emojis.

Earlier in the week, the pair had a fallout on Twitter as Piers argued it was premature to reopen pubs on a "sunny Saturday".

Kevin defended the government's decision and said there is a "small death rate" before calling the TV personality a "fat boy!"

Piers then shared a selection of tweets he claimed Kevin had been sending him over the last four months, which he called "nonsense".

Kevin responded by saying: "I slap you when I see you! That won't be nonsense!" and managed to get his social media account temporarily locked by doing so.

Clearly not completely over the fallout just one day after it happened, Kevin shared a clip from their night out in London where Piers could be seen posing for paparazzi photos outside of the restaurant.

The South-African born cricketer accused the presenter of hiring the snapper to take the photos as he yelled: "Embarrassing! Absolutely embarrassing. Look at him, you are an embarrassment. He's got his own photographer!"

He captioned it: "We just wanted an, 'under the radar' dinner and @piersmorgan brings his own photographer. Unreal! But, I suppose he has to make sure he's always spoken about and seen!"

Sharing the same clip on Twitter, he added: "Jess, Celia and I just wanted an 'under the radar' dinner!" To which Piers replied: "It's not my fault they paparazzi have no idea who you are!"

The ITV star, who recently shared a sweet throwback wedding snap to mark his 10 year anniversary with wife Celia, also shared the video on his Instagram Stories.

He captioned it: "What was REALLY embarrassing was that the pap ignored Kevin because he had no idea who he was…" alongside three laughing emojis.
