Ricky Gervais: Golden Globes 2020 host calls James Corden a ‘fat p***y’ as he slams Cats

2020 Golden Globes host and The Office creator Ricky Gervais, 58, spared no prisoners as he mocked a series of high profile figures and celebrities during his fifth stint as the prestigious awards host. He particularly made fun of The Late Late Show host James Corden, 41, and his role in the box office flop Cats.

During his monologue Ricky remarked: “The world got to see James Corden as a fat p***y.

“He was also in the movie Cats, but now one saw that.”

He then went on to poke fun at the movies poor reviews, which currently holds a 21 percent rating on movie review aggregator Rotten tomatoes.

The After Life star continued: “And the reviews – shocking!

“I saw one that said it was one of the worst things to happen to cats since dogs.

“But Dame Judi Dench defended the film.

“She said it was the role she was born to play.

“Because she loves nothing better than getting down on the carpet, lifting up her leg and licking her own m****.”

The live transmission of the awards managed to bleep out the last word.

The cameras also cut to an utterly shocked looking Gwyneth Paltrow.

And Ricky also took a swipe at major corporations, especially Apple who produced Jennifer Aniston’s award-nominated The Morning Show.

He explained: “Apple roared in the TV game with The Morning Show, a superb drama about the importance of dignity and doing the right thing.”

“So if you do win an award tonight, don’t use it as a platform to make a political speech, right?

“You’re in no position to lecture the public about anything. You know nothing about the real world.

“Most of you spent less time in school than Greta Thunberg.

“If you win, come up, accept your little award, thank your agent and your god, and f*** off.”

He also remarked that he believed much of the audience were “terrified” of Roman Farrow, the multi-awarding winning journalist who helped expose much of the alleged misconduct against Harvey Weinstein.

Ricky said: “In this room are some of the most important TV and film executives in the world, from all different backgrounds.

“But they all have one thing in common – they’re terrified of Ronan Farrow. He’s coming for you!”
