This Morning presenter Alison Hammond has opened up about her desire to have more children in a candid interview. The ITV favourite has admitted she’s “disappointed” in herself for not expanding her family sooner.

The 46-year-old recently opened up about romance and motherhood as she dished on her family plans.

The presenter, who is already a mum to her son Aidan, 16, confessed she would have liked more children.

While she hasn’t ruled out adopting a child, the on-screen star said she would prefer to have a partner.

Alison admitted she has “so much love to give” and in hindsight would have loved five or six children.

“I wish I’d banged out two at the same time. As soon as I had Aidan I went straight on contraception because the doctors encourage you to,” she explained.

“I wish I hadn’t listened and just banged another baby out then. I’m so disappointed as I always saw myself with five or six kids, not one.

“I’ve got so much love to give, I need six to share it all around.”

When quizzed about adoption, Alison said that she would consider the possibility.

She added to OK! Magazine: “Never say never.

“But I’d want to do it with a partner and I’m not with anyone at the moment. You can do it on your own, but I don’t want to.”

The presenter welcomed her teenage son with her ex Nourddine Boufaied.

Alison has opened up about her relationship with her former partner in her new autobiography, You’ve Got To Laugh.

“Over time we realised we weren’t compatible. He wanted to be in Manchester and I wanted to be in Birmingham,” she wrote.

“Eventually we split up.”

She added: “Nourddine became an every-other-weekend dad, and in time, we saw him as and when he wanted to see Aidan.”

The TV star admitted that the pair are still friends but he has since remarried.

During her interview with OK!, Alison also said that “people were just more interested” when in her when she was slimmer.

At her heaviest, the This Morning presenter weighed more than 20st and vowed to overhaul her diet in 2019 to shift the pounds.

She claimed people are “obsessed with dieting and being slim”.

This Morning airs weekdays on ITV at 10am.
