Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown cries after distressing fan encounter

Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown urged people to be ‘more respectful’ in a teary video after a fan filmed her while she was out with family.

In a video on her Instagram Stories, the 16-year-old actress explained how a fan approached her asked if she could film her when she was Christmas shopping.

Millie understandably became emotional while recalling the experience, telling her fans it was ‘overwhelming’.

The Netflix star explained: ‘She said, “Can I take a video of you?” I said, “Um, no.” But why would anyone want to be taken a video of? Of me? It’s not like of the both of us.’

However the fan continued to film her as she finished her shopping.

‘I was paying and she walked past me and began to video me again – and I said, “I’m a human being, like, what more can I ask from you?’ Millie said.

‘She said, “So I can’t take a video of a human being?”‘ Brown recalled. ‘And I said, “No, not when I said no.”

‘It just makes me upset when people try to push the boundary, and I just wish people were more respectful.

‘I don’t need to justify it to anyone. If I don’t want to be taken a video of, I don’t have to be.’

She urged people to ‘show more respect for others, no matter who they are, what they do – it’s just manners.’

Millie added that she was ‘totally fine’ in a later video.

The teen star appeared to be backed by the Stranger Things writing team as they wrote on their Twitter account: ‘Be kind to others. Find compassion. Wear a mask.

‘All those things cost zero dollars and take zero energy.’
