TOWIE’s Ricky Rayment praised for bravely opening up on alopecia: ‘It’s something I’m very self conscious about’

Former TOWIE star Ricky Rayment has bravely opened up on living with alopecia, revealing how self-conscious he can be about the medical condition.

The reality star revealed he suffers from the condition which causes spot baldness and hair loss in areas of the body. Often it results in a few bald spots on the scalp, each about the size of a coin.

The 29 year old was praised as he took to social media to share a photo of himself clean-shaven, revealing he usually grows a beard to hide the condition.

He wrote: “Embracing my alopecia!

“I normally always have a beard to try and hide it but I thought f**k it, who cares!! I know it’s only a few patches and people suffer a lot worse than me but it is something that I’m very self conscious about.

“So I thought I’d do a post about it so that maybe it would help other sufferers embrace it and say the same as me: F U Alopecia!!

“Who cares, we living babyyyy! let’s get it champs, the show goes on.”

Fans were quick to praise the star, writing: “Embrace it! You’re still you, still probably have a heart of gold.”

A second added: “You look so amazing and you’re an amazing role model not just to me but to everyone else. keep up the good work!”

While a third wrote: “Looks sick bro the show goes on.”

Ricky is best known for appearing on TOWIE until 2014 and was previously engaged to Geordie Shore’s Marnie Simpson before the pair split in 2015.

He went on to launch his own fishing clothing line range named Filthy Hooker.
