Zara McDermott details hair loss after Covid battle

Love Island star Zara McDermott has opened up on suffering from hair loss with her fans.

The Made in Chelsea beauty revealed she had started loosing strands recently, a few months after she battled with COVID-19.

The 24 year old star showed off her still lustrous blonde highlighted locks in a video as she gave an update on her health.

“Lots of you messaging me asking for an update on hair loss! I just had a call from my Dr to give me my blood results,” Zara, who is in a relationship with fellow Made in Chelsea star Sam Thompson, began.

"He was actually really impressed with my blood results. He checked everything… as well as my response to vaccine and also they can separately test my antibody response to Covid itself. Both were very high.

"I still have a huge amount of antibodies in my system and my response to the vaccine was over 2600 (not sure what that means in Dr terms but he said that’s really good)."

The former Love Island bombshell went on to say that the medical professional told her “everything else” was completely normal, and he was “extremely confident” that her hair loss was due to her exposure to the coronavirus.

“Hair works in cycles, so a stress on the body 4-6 months ago can result in the hair falling out now,” Zara explained. “He advised that I keep up the protein in my diet, keep eating healthy, take multivitamins and zinc.

“No one knows a huge amount about post covid hair loss yet so no one knows how long this shedding can last.

"But hopefully it’s not too much longer and I can salvage as much of my hair as I can!”

Zara went on to advise her followers to get their bloods checked if they have been suffering from something similar to her as she said it could be “a whole host of things”.

“But that’s my semi happy ending so hopefully it will stop shedding soon and start coming back,” the reality TV star continued.

“I went and bought loads of supplements to start taking after my blood tests but turns out I don’t need them too much,” as she added she would still take multi vitamins.

“Hope this helps anyone. And sorry I don’t have any more definitive answers,” the social media influencer added.
