Extra Butter Enlists ASICS, Alpha Industries and G-Shock For New Tomcat Collection

Since 2007, Extra Butter has been proudly serving the folks of Greater New York City with a finely curated selection of streetwear brands and sneaker drops, and this month, they’re teaming with industry stalwarts ASICS, Alpha Industries and G-Shock for a new Tomcat Collection. The three-party alliance integrates footwear, apparel and accessories, and was made as a tribute to the form and function of fighter jet design and aeronautical engineering.

On the sneakers side, the NYC-based retailers links up with the folks over at ASICS to reimagine the Kayano V OG with fighter jet sensibility. Styled with a stealthy steel blue exterior, this specially-crafted colorway is tweaked with a revamped tongue and lacing system, whose upper layer features a premium full grain leather and ballistic nylon underlay. Graphic notations such as “Hold On”, “Jet Fuel Only”, “Secure Prior to Flight” and more grace over the base to further echo its military aircraft-inspired theme.

For outerwear, EB has linked up with Alpha Industries, and thus created a uniquely designed MA-1 Flight Jacket. Patches emblematic of vintage aviators and Extra Butter’s brand aesthetic are embroidered in an all-over manner atop an olive bomber piece.

G-Shock thrusts themselves into the mix by lending their GM5600B-3EB timepiece to be filtered through the Extra Butter lens. Resin cases are ornamented with a dot matrix camouflage print and paired with with an electro-luminescent backlight afterglow. The watch’s bands and packaging both also usher in a military olive hue with printed overlays to match up with the graphic elements of the aforementioned Kayano shoe.

Moreover, the collection is completed with two hoodies, a long sleeve tee, a short sleeve tee and a snapback, all of which are printed with retro-esque fighter jet imagery.

The entire Tomcat Collection will release exclusively at Extra Butter retail locations on December 16, followed by a digital launch via Extra Butter’s online store and the EB Mobile App on December 18.
