I married a traveller eight years ago – people still ask the same annoying questions but it’s none of their business | The Sun

A WOMAN who married a traveller eight years ago has revealed she is still constantly asked the same annoying questions.

Liberty Collins, from the UK, revealed the annoying questions she is still asked years on from the couple tying the knot.

In a TikTok video, Liberty shared a photo of herself and her husband in the back of their wedding car.

She wrote: "When people find out you're married to a traveller."

Liberty then revealed the most common questions she still receives, including people asking 'did he grab you?'

Grabbing is a tradition in the Irish traveller community where boys 'grab' a girl in an attempt to start dating her.

I’m a traveller girl & people call us dirty – we were born to clean our guts out

Because girls in the community are under strict rules not to approach men, it's up to the guys to make a move.

"So do you like, live in a caravan?" is another question liberty is asked frequently.

Others, jokingly wonder "Does he collect scrap metal?"

Liberty revealed that older women always ask her what she wore to her wedding.

"Did you have a massive pink dress like on the telly?" they ask.

But it's clear from Liberty's wedding picture that she went for a more understated look, she wore a white baby doll dress before changing into a set of white pyjamas after the ceremony.

She also revealed that younger boys always try to relate to her when they find out she is married to a traveller.

They say: "My granny's cousin's mum's dog's a gypsy take oaf chavvie."

People were stunned that Liberty has actually been asked some of the questions, one wrote: "OMG do people really ask these questions?"

Liberty replied: "Omg yes people are so uneducated, I’m 8 years in and people still ask me a million questions like I’m an alien lol."

The video has since gone viral with over 566k views and over 28k likes.

People quickly took to the comments section to share their thoughts.

One wrote: "This is the most accurate thing I’ve seen on TikTok in ages."

Another person commented: "No the scrap metal got me."

Liberty replied: "If I had a pound for every time."
