35-YEAR-OLD Sophie Mallon from Manchester saved nearly £600 on having to reupholster her leather dining chairs with this hidden DIY secret.
A NEWBIE to the DIY world, Sophie received old dining chairs and gave them a new lease of life with this one little trick.
Sophie commented, “Reupholstering chairs costs a fortune. Instead, I found this miracle product online that saved me £100’s. I took matters into my own hands, and I am so glad I did.”
Sophie spoke to big sale marketplace LovetheSales.com, sharing her DIY money-saving experience.
“After my dog tore into my lovely dining room chairs, I believed that fixing the dreary seats would have me break the piggy bank."
Sophie said that she was worried that she would not be able to budget for an entire set of new dining chairs, so decided to have a professional look into repairing them.
"When I saw the exorbitant prices that they were charging (some online quotes reaching £600), I knew there must be a better and more frugal way to get the job done," Sophie said.
Adding: “So, I decided to do a bit of online research and discovered these affordable and stylish seat covers on eBay. I was a little bit hesitant that they wouldn’t work, but for £22 a set I thought I’d take the risk.”
Sophie found that it was actually not as difficult as she first anticipated, as she installed the seats within minutes.
"I would say it’s like putting on a jumper over the chairs. With a tiny bit of elbow grease they fitted on perfectly over my dining chairs and made them look as good as new," she said.
Adding: "I am so happy with the results, and for £22 it’s like I’ve just bought a new set of dining chairs.”
As her top tip, Sophie said that it is always good to do your homework and see what your options are before you splurge.
"Sometimes, the answer is closer than you think. Read, Research & Repeat. The 3 R’s are how I found the best solution that was: quick, easy-to-do and affordable” she said.
Stuart McClure, the money-saving expert and co-founder of LovetheSales.com, said that it was great to see Sophie’s amazing interior transformation.
“It’s always great to see people like Sophie realising their capabilities and tackling issues like this with great success," said Stuart.
Adding: "I know that it will inspire countless other budgeting DIYers to find creative solutions and save money in the process.”
