Y/Project's Denim Ankle Boots Feature Vintage-Style Leather Jacrons

Y/Project‘s denim is boundary-pushing, often appearing in multiple tones with cut-outs or stacked like this layered pair, but now it finds itself transformed into a denim ankle boot.

The Y/Project denim ankle boot sports an all-over brown mottled effect — somewhat acid-washed if you will — and just like a true pair of jeans it also features Jacrons on the heel. Jacrons are the pieces of cellulose paper that you’ll find on the back of a pair of Levi’s, for example — interestingly, Levi’s was the brand that introduced them back in 1873 on its denim overalls and the design was invented to keep customers from purchasing fake products.

Here, Y/Project’s Glenn Martens pays homage to the Jacron by developing the boots’ in leather, adding intricate artwork alongside traditional red-toned information such as “Dry Cleaning Is Always Better,” “Denim,” and a nod to the brand itself, “Paris’s Best.”

A zipper runs down the full length of the boots’ medial side, while inside you’ll find a full leather lining. Rounding out the inventive pair is its stacked leather sole unit and large heel, as well as its bang-on-trend square toe design.
