Mars brings back most popular chocolate bar after 30 years – here’s where you can buy it

There are many chocolate treats that have sadly been discontinued over the years. Mars Wrigley products are a favourite among chocoholics and one of its best selling items has returned to shelves for a limited time.

Mars Wrigley are the confectionary makers behind brands like Extra chewing gum and Skittles sweets.

The company also produces chocolate favourites including M&M’s, Snickers and Maltesers.

It has now confirmed the comeback of the retro chocolate bar, Marathon.

The sweet treat has a nougat and nut filling and is covered in chocolate.

While it was first taken off shelves 30 years ago, the product was rebranded as the Snickers bar.

However, it was briefly brought back last year in its original form for a limited amount of time.

The bar was so popular that a whopping four million were sold in just 12 weeks.

The supermarket chain Morrisons were even forced to put a limit on how many packs a customer could buy at one time.

Where can you get one?

Following the successful stint last year, Mars has brought bars back.

Lucky fans can pick one up right now as they went on sale on August 10.

The sweets were launched earlier this week and are available to buy in multipacks of four.

Hungry shoppers will also be able to pick up single bars for the first time in 30 years.

The chocolates will be on sale in Morrisons and McColl’s stores only.

Nostalgic chocolate lovers will need to act fast as the bars will be available for just three months.

David Manzini, general manager at Mars Wrigley UK said: “At Mars Wrigley we’re all about creating better moments through our sweet treats.

“It’s clear that after nearly 30 years away, people loved the return of the Marathon bar last year.

“When the British public speaks, we always aim to deliver.

“It’s great that after making chocolate in the UK for nearly 90 years people still love our chocolate!”
