The roll measures in at a whopping 24cm and weighs in at over half a kilo. In total the huge treat weight 650g and is 10 times bigger than the standard Tesco sausage roll (65g). The Tesco Sausage Roll Log offers a savoury twist on the Yule log, usually chocolate.

Available in-store and online from tomorrow the centrepiece is filled with pork and “delicately seasoned with sage and nutmeg”.

It is then wrapped in a flaky puff pastry and decorated with festive pastry leaves.

The treat will serve 10 people. It can be enjoyed either cold or hot by heating up in the oven at 180°/Fan 160°/Gas 4 for 30 mins.

It is not the only festive treat Tesco has on offer this year.

It joins the supermarket’s line up of innovative festive sausage offerings, including: vegan pigless blankets, giant pigs in blankets, and even pigs with blankets, wrapped in their own pastry “duvets”.

The news comes as Tesco revealed 25 percent off it’s Tesco Christmas range.
