William and Kate seldom share pictures from inside their Kensington Palace home. One time royal watchers were greeted to pictures from inside the palace was when President Obama and Michelle Obama visited in 2016. Royal fans love to hear about furniture at the royal residences, and whether they can recreate their royal styles at home with a cheaper alternative.

Insiders have previously reported Kate Middleton has purchased furniture from IKEA for her children’s bedrooms.

Prince William released a video last week chatting to Olympic boxer Lauren Price, who will be representing Team GB this summer in Tokyo.

This video revealed a glimpse of the private garden at Kensington Palace, enjoyed by the Cambridge family.

Prince William and Lauren were sitting on garden furniture which royal watchers absolutely loved.

The BBC Sport interview discusses Lauren becoming Wales’s first female boxer to compete at the Olympic games.

However, what got most royal fans intrigued the most was the large, carved dark wooden chairs and matching coffee table in the Cambridges’ garden.

The wooden set is a ‘Lutyens’ style, named after British designer Sir Edwin Lutyens.

This architect inspired many benches and seats to be made in a similar style in the years which followed, and clearly, the Cambridges approve of the design.

Once the video was released, royal watchers quickly discovered that Amazon offered nearly identical versions of the same furniture at a cheaper price.

Therefore, anyone wishing to emulate royal tastes and deck their garden just like Kate Middleton can now do so affordably.

Amazon sells a Marlborough Teak Chair in Lutyens style, listed at only £169.99.

In comparison to official Lutyens garden bench sets which cost nearly a grand, this is an excellent bargain.

Amazon sells the traditional style in single chairs, but there is also a bench option available by Thompson & Morgan for £174.99.

Kate Middleton has also installed a wooden play swing for Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis to play in their garden.

The Duchess has shared adorable photos of the family on the swing, and many parents across the country will want to copy this idea for their young children this summer.

Nearby at the official Kensington Palace Gardens, Prince William and Prince Harry recently unveiled a statue of their mother, Princess Diana.

Royal watchers can now go and visit and also inspect the gardens named after the Cambridges’ official residence.

The other current residents of Kensington Palace include the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester, the Duke and Duchess of Kent, and Prince and Princess Michael of Kent.

It was previously the home of Diana, Princess of Wales and also Queen Victoria.
