Ziggy (Sophie Dillman) has received a phone call from her dream job at the race track to tell her she’s got the gig, but she’s scared to tell Dean (Patrick O’Connor) – especially because of his reaction last time. However, Ben (Rohan Nichol) tells her she has to come clean, with the urgency to do so building as she has to leave the Bay soon.
However, what Ziggy doesn’t know is that Dean already knows she accepted the job offer. He found out when a message from her new boss popped up on her phone screen as it lay on the table, leaving it easy for him to connect the dots.
Ziggy asks Willow how she would tell Dean news he won’t be happy about, but this is something Willow is struggling with herself. However, she tells Ziggy they make a good couple, so she should remind Dean of that.
Ziggy creates a ‘perfect’ date night for them, hoping to soften the blow, but Dean guesses what she’s up to and knows she’s just trying to butter him up. He’s frustrated by her lack of trust and is a no-show for their date.
The day comes for Ziggy to leave the Bay, and she goes to find Dean. However, Dean jumps in by saying he already knows. A row begins as Dean says he’s angry she kept it from him, and it gets worse when Ziggy says she’s leaving the Bay today.
Dean presumes the worst and shuts down. Ziggy tries to tell him she still wants to be with him, but Dean is hurt by her decision and pushes her away, saying she would have told him sooner if he was really important to her. They’re over.
