A bride has been slammed online after saying she will charge her guests $100 (£72) each if they fail to come to her wedding.
She shared a snap online of the invitations she sent out to friends and family stating that if they RSVP as attending and then change their mind they will receive a bill.
Posting online she explained: “So I’m making little cards to add to our envelopes for our invitations.
“I know it may seem rude or harsh but Covid-19 and number restrictions having us cut down our list and to make this day affordable for us as well, I don’t have any guilt about this.”
The invites read: “Please note that you have been chosen with love to celebrate this joyous event with us.
“We are paying per plate, so if you RSVP ‘Attending’ and do not make it, we will be requesting the $100 cost from you for each person in your party. If your RSVP status changes, please notify us.”
The bride wanted guest to warn her by April 26 2021 if they could not attend.
Her post was shared on a wedding shaming group on Reddit where people were unhappy with the money-saving idea.
“If someone doesn't show up to your wedding for anything other than the most dire of emergencies, surely they wouldn't be dissuaded by this tacky card?” commented one person.
“All you're doing with this is alienating your guests.”
Another added: “If I got this I would RSVP yes, not show up and then laugh at her when she requests her money.”
While a third said: “I'd be rethinking my relationship with anyone trying to have a public wedding mid-Covid because it's just so irresponsible, you add this entitlement into the mix and whew, no thought necessary – gone.”
But, not everyone despised the idea.
A poster wrote: “Yeah I would never feel comfortable sending this, but I wouldn't get mad about receiving it.”

“I get where they're coming from,” added another.
And, further posters explained that the bride added the charge because she was having difficulties with her future husband’s family.
They added: “His family is rude, never shows up to stuff, leaves her on read all the time, and his mum changes her mind day to day about if she's going to attend their wedding. “
