Opening hours for the majority of large stores vary every year over the Easter holidays, with Good Friday (April 3), Easter Saturday (April 4), Easter Sunday (April 5) and Easter Monday (April 6) all potentially affecting supermarkets and home improvement stores.
Homebase, Wickes and B&Q are three go-to chains for DIY, and with home improvements becoming increasingly popular as a potentially Covid-free summer approaches us, people will be making the most of the great weather and heading out for supplies.
However, we all need to be wary of the reduced opening times and closures over Easter weekend.
Some stores may be closing over the bank holiday weekend, while others may have restricted hours.
So read on for more information on Wickes, Homebase and B&Q opening hours this Easter bank holiday.

What are Wickes’ opening hours over Easter Weekend?
It’s good news for those who are planning on heading to Wickes for all their bathroom and kitchen improvement needs.
Stores will be open for the majority of the weekend, with varying opening hours, but it’s best to check Wickes’ store finder on their website to ensure your local store is open.
It’s important to note Scottish stores won’t be affected by the Easter opening hours, as Easter Monday isn’t a Bank Holiday in Scotland.
On Good Friday, stores will be open from 6am until 8pm, and from 6.30am until 7pm on Easter Saturday.
All Wickes shops are then closed on Easter Sunday, although customers can still shop online, with click and collect orders available to be picked up on Easter Monday.
On Easter Monday, the hours will be the same as on Good Friday; 6am to 8pm, before returning to their standard opening hours of 6am – 9pm from Tuesday, April 7 onwards.

Homebase opening times for Easter Weekend
Just like other stores, Homebase will continue to operate under normal business hours for all their Scottish branches over the Easter period, only stores in Northern Ireland, Wales and England will be affected by the following closures and amendments.
Homebase’s website has updated information on all of their stores, which is again subject to change from store to store, so it’s best to check their website regularly.
However, the standard hours of operation for Easter Weekend are as follows:
Good Friday’s opening times will be 8am until 8pm, giving you plenty of time to dash in for some last-minute shopping if you are in dire need of some emulsion paint or fancy doorknobs.
Easter Saturday will also see the store open at 8am, but will close slightly sooner at 7pm.
On Easter Sunday, the store will be completely shut as it has to comply with Government rules for Bank Holidays.
Just like Wickes, Homebase will be taking click & collect orders, and those placed on Easter Saturday evening or on Easter Sunday will be ready for collection on Monday.
On Monday, you’ll have between the hours of 8am and 7pm to head down, and normal opening hours will resume from Tuesday.
Easter Weekend opening hours for B&Q
If your local home improvement store is a B&Q, you’ll also need to take note of the changes to their opening hours to avoid any disappointment.
Whether you’re wanting to pop in for a new bed frame, some fancy tiles for a new bathroom makeover or just some tools, you might not be able to grab them if you rock up at the wrong time.
You can check for any updates and see which store is closest to you using B&Q’s store finder here.
A statement on B&Q’s website reads: “Our stores in England, Wales and Northern Ireland will be closed on Easter Sunday (4 April).
“Click + Collect orders placed on or before Saturday 3 April will be available to collect on Monday 5 April.
“Our stores in Scotland, Republic of Ireland and Isle of Man will remain open as normal.”
For the rest of the weekend, you’ll still be able to pop in on Good Friday and on Easter Saturday between the hours of 7am and 8pm.
Sunday, as stated, will see the closure of stores, but they will be open as normal from 7am until 8pm once again by Easter Monday.
