PUB goers can nab 100,000 free drinks until next week – perfect if you're feeling skint after Christmas.
Until January 19, you can get your hands on a free pint, cider or soft drink at more than 1,000 pubs across the UK.
A pint of beer or cider usually costs around £3.50, so it's an easy way to save some money on your favourite tipple.
All you need to do to get the freebie is register your details with pub operator Great British Pubs on a smartphone or tablet.
You can choose from a selection of 20 drinks – if your local pub stocks all of them – including Fosters, Kronenbourg, Strongbow, Rekorderlig as well as Gordon's gin and tonic.
Alternatively, if you're taking part in dry January, there's alcohol-free Heineken and Old Mout.
How to find the cheapest beer
IF you're after the cheapest pint in your area, here are some tips.
- Snap up the pub's own pale ales – One way to cut down your costs is to go to pubs that sell their own-brewed pale ales as they will sell at a cheaper price per pint than those from an external brewery, according to the Good Pub Guide.
- Go for a low alcohol content – Pints with a lower alcohol by volume (ABV) tend to be cheaper, so they could be a great option if you like the taste of beer.
- Become a member of a beer drinker's group -If you’re always in the pub, you may be able to save money by signing up to a beer drinkers’ group. For example, a CAMRA membership gives you vouchers and discounts at JD Wetherspoon pubs. The prices start at £18 a year though, so carefully calculate first whether you think it's worth it.
- Snap up supermarket deals – If you're not fussed about having your beer in the pub, you can often nab supermarket deals on beers which work out cheaper than at the pub.
You can also choose from soft drinks including Pepsi Max or J20.
When you sign up, you'll need to put down your post code to get a selection of the pubs near you.
You then get a list of which drinks each pub can offer you for free. Simply click on the one you want and bring the voucher to the pub.
