He's friends with P Diddy and worth just over £1billion.

Not bad for a boy who was expelled from school.

Umar Kamani, 33, is a member of the founding family behind PrettyLittleThing – part of the Boohoo group – the online clothing retailer that started life as a simple market stall and is now a big name in the fashion trade.

It's no wonder the billionaire's proposal to Arabic model and influencer girlfriend Nada Adelle came with a hefty price tag.

Kamani got down on one knee with a £1.45 million diamond ring and 10,000 roses while 25 musicians played Beauty and the Beast as his bride-to-be walked onto the stage of the Monte Carlo Opera House.

Nada, 27, wore a stunning white gown by David Koma while Kamani looked dapper in a £5,000 Prada Tom Ford suit and a £730,000 Patek Philippe watch.

He proposed surrounded by dozens of candles and presented Adelle with the sparkler flown in from New York celebrity jeweller Richard Nektalov.

The breathtaking proposal is the culmination of a whirlwind romance for the couple, who only stepped out publicly together for the first time in March 2020.

Kamani shared photos to his 1.2million followers with the caption: "20.08.21," alongside a ring emoji.

The 33-year-old, who founded the PrettyLittleThing fashion brand with his younger brother Adam in 2012, owns a fleet of cars, including two Rolls-Royce Phantoms, a £300,000 Lamborghini Aventador, a £92,000 customised G-Class Mercedes and a high-end Range Rover.

He paid a six-figure sum for Kylie Jenner to pose in a £15 PrettyLittleThing orange dress and hired Little Mix to do a PrettyLittleThing collection.

The Kylie Jenner coup led to sales increasing ten-fold and allowed him to buy a seven-bedroom mansion in the Hollywood Hills, complete with basketball court.

Kamani is said to have hung out with rapper Snoop Dogg at the Playboy Mansion in Hollywood. He also hosted J-Lo's 50th party at singer Gloria Estefan's mansion.

In 2019, society bible Tatler named Kamani its eighth most eligible bachelor, alongside the Duke of Roxburghe and former One Direction star Harry Styles.

Adelle, who boasts 427,000 Instagram followers, is a model who has been featured in magazines such as Look Magazine and Harper's Bazaar.

The stunner, who delights in showcasing her jet-set lifestyle to her many fans on social media, has also fronted a campaign for Beyonce's Ivy Park, as well as working with make-up brand L'Oreal.

While high street stores such as Debenhams, New Look and Marks & Spencer have seen sales plunge, Boohoo has bucked the trend. In the first half of this year it reported a hefty 43 per cent rise.

The Manchester-based firm specialises in fast, cheap fashion for tweens and 20-somethings and is worth £3.8billion.

After the Debenhams buyout Kamani tweeted: "Mad that we used to go into Debenhams every Saturday looking for cheap TVs with my dad."
