- Kelly Ripa just shared her plans for when she and husband Mark Consuelos become empty nesters.
- It includes the parents of three being “totally naked… at all times.”
- Kelly also opened up about how she and Mark make their 24-year marriage work.
Kelly Ripa, 49, is soooo close to being an empty nester. So close, in fact, that she and husband Mark Consuelos are already making some big plans for the moment all three kids—Michael, 22, Lola, 18, and Joaquin, 16—are out of the house. (Michael currently lives in Brooklyn, while Lola is a freshman at New York University. So that just leaves Joaquin at home…but not for long.)
And what does those big plans include?“We’re going to be totally naked,” the Live with Kelly and Ryan host joked during an interview with PEOPLE Now. “At all times. We are going to change the locks. People are like, ‘Oh, you’re gonna miss the kids.’ I’m like, ‘I don’t know, I wanna experiment with it. See how that goes.’”
Kelly also opened up about how she and Mark have made their marriage of 24 years work.
“We encourage each other,” she said. “I hate when people say this—because it sounds so dumb—but we are best friends, and we love each other and we like each other, and we’ve got these beautiful, amazing kids and we feel very fortunate to have found, in this great big world with all these people, we’re just two kids. He’s from Italy, I’m from south Jersey, what are the chances we would find each other?”
Kelly and Mark are, of course, notorious for their social media flirting, which even recently led their daughter Lola to call them “repulsive”. (Hmmm, that whole bit about Kelly changing the locks is starting to make sense now…)
