A young man has wowed the internet after sharing a ‘game changing’ storing trick that seals frozen food bags in just seconds.
Philip Quinn, from Queensland, shared a now-viral TikTok video of himself cutting a bag of frozen chips half-way down the middle instead of snipping across the top like most people do.
By cutting the packet from the top down to the centre, he was able to tie the sides together without using any elastic band or clip.
The video has since been viewed more than one million times, with dozens saying the method is so simple, they wish they’d known sooner in their life.
‘I am impressed. Wow. How have I never once thought to do this,’ one woman wrote.
A second said: ‘No, no just no. All my 26 years of left and I’ve never thought of this?’
‘It’s so simple and yet I had never thought of it,’ another wrote, while one added: ‘My mind is absolutely blown’.
Many admitted they were ‘mad’ at the man for cutting the bag from the centre until they saw how ‘genius’ he trick was once he tied the sides shut.
‘I was so mad at you for opening the bag like that then it turned into pure genius,’ one wrote, and another added: ‘I learn more on TikTok than I ever did from my parents or school.’
Dozens said the trick will help prevent frozen foods from spilling inside their freezer.
‘Now this is a game changer. No more frozen peas floating in my freezer drawer,’ one wrote, while another said: ‘My dad will love you for this one, he’s hopeless.’
Others went far to say he ‘saved’ their lives after sharing the trick online, with one woman saying: ‘My life has now changed forever. Thank you, you wonderful man.’

The video comes just months after a woman demonstrated the ‘correct’ way to eat sushi rolls with soy sauce – and it seems most of us have been doing it wrong our whole lives.
April-Joy Goodlet, from Brisbane shared a ‘life hack’ on TikTok showing herself pushing the long nozzle of the classic fish-shaped soy sauce directly into the side of the seaweed roll.
Instead of seasoning the sushi as you eat from the top down like many people do, the 26-year-old squeezed the sauce inside the roll to evenly coat the filling.
‘Next time you eat sushi and you get soy sauce, do this… You’re welcome,’ she said.
