An Australian teacher and meal-prepping pro has shared her genius trick for reviving stale bread within minutes. 

Katie Lolas, who goes by Lady Lolas, recently gave her advice on the simple way to deal with old hard loaves that are a couple of days past the expiration date.

In a now-viral video posted to Instagram, the Sydney mum-of-one showed herself pouring water over her bread to make sure that the crust was wet before placing it in the oven for 6-7 minutes at 160C.

‘Can you really revive stale bread?’ Katie asked her 160k+ Instagram followers.

She added, ‘I’m talking… other than using it for breadcrumbs, French toast, or freezing it.’

But Katie was quick to answer her own question. ‘YES,’ she wrote. ‘You can!’

However, Katie was quick to warn viewers against attempting the hack on bread that has gathered mould.

‘Let’s just be clear though,’ she captioned her post. ‘Bread that’s mouldy is beyond salvaging.’

She added, ‘Throw it in your compost it and move on.’

Katie advised that her hack works best for bread that has just gotten a little dry and tough.

‘This works for all types of bread – rolls, scones, sourdough,’ she clarified in the comments.

The hack is also perfect for those who are just a little absentminded and helps with avoiding food wastage.
