Zara Tindall, 39, is the only daughter of Princess Anne, 70, and the eldest granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II, 94. When the royals step out together, their body language could give a surprising look into their relationship.

Zara Tindall may be the granddaughter of the Queen, but she does not have the same status as some of her royal cousins.

When she was born, Princess Anne reportedly chose for her not to have an official Her Royal Highness title.

Because of this, Zara has been able to enjoy a life that is much more private than some of her relatives.

She has mostly been seen with Princess Anne near where they both live at Gatcombe Park and, less frequently, at royal events.

Looking at photos of Zara and her mother, body language expert Judi James suggested they both appear to be “intense sharers”.

The expert claimed the royal women have a lot in common which may be obvious when they are seen together.

She told Express.co.uk: “Anne and Zara’s body language together defines them as intense sharers, with their matching traits of professionalism and their intense passion for horses.

“Their competitive spirits that powered them both to Olympic glory, and their sense of what looks like doubled-up fun that is a constant aspect of Zara’s personality but less obvious in Anne until she is seen in her daughter’s company.”

Zara and Princess Anne have both shown their love of horses and both competed in Olympic games.

When they have been snapped together, Judi added they seemed to have a shared level of respect for each other.

“Their respect looks mutual as well,” the expert told Express.co.uk.

“Zara always talks about her mother with a sense of awe as well as humour and affection, but it’s clear that Anne is proud of the daughter who has led the kind of life that Anne herself might have seen as ideal had she not taken on all her royal duties.”

Princess Anne will often hold back from being affectionate in public, but Zara’s body language could show this is a different story behind closed doors.

Judi stated: “Princess Anne has never been a lover of the PDA, posing in a more traditional, hands-off way with two husbands and her own children.

“But the way that daughter Zara has emerged as a wonderfully tactile and openly affectionate woman suggests there might have been a very different version of her mother away from the cameras.”

Princess Anne’s affection for her daughter appears to extend to Zara’s children, Judi continued.

Zara is a mother of two and recently announced she is expecting her third child.

When Princess Anne has been seen with her grandchildren, the expert explained she often shows more public affection than usual.

She said: “With her grandchildren we do finally get to see the more demonstrative side to the Princess.

“Playful and doting, Anne blends the usual watchful eye of any grandmother with a tendency to join in games with an enthusiasm that makes her look like a child herself.”
