You can now buy the first 5-star beach hut in the UK – with king-size bed and ensuite

A FIVE-STAR beach hut is up for sale which was once voted the best in the world – and includes a king-size bed and ensuite.

Located next to Dunster Beach, it is the only five-star hut in the UK, as rated by Visit England.

Beach huts, normally much smaller and basic with kitchenettes and storage, have been seeing soaring popularity amid the staycation boom.

Inside the Salad Days hut is a huge living area for entertaining, with a full kitchen, dining table and sitting area.

A king-size bed is tucked behind, along with an ensuite bathroom and shower, and even underfloor heating for the colder evenings.

During summer months, a front and back fenced garden is perfect for the warmer weather, which includes seating and sun loungers.

Buyers can take ownership from November 1, with prices on request but are expected to start from £160,000.

Buyers can choose to continue to rent it out, or to have it for themselves.

If you can't face buying it you will have to wait until next year as 2021 bookings are fully sold out and will be honoured under new ownership.

Guests who have booked it get a welcome hamper with tea, coffee and breakfast, along with an espresso machine, board games and toiletries.

Picnic sets and towels are even included, so you can head straight to the beach with little effort required.

Stays range from £450 for seven nights during low season, to £600 during high season, although you can rent it for just three nights from £225.

Owner Brett Bates told local media: "Someone has the opportunity to buy into a ready-made beach hut at Dunster.

"It has a fantastic reputation and has been featured in many publications over the last few years and even described as the best beach hut in the world by one."

A Dorset beach hut is currently for sale – for a whopping £325,000, the most expensive in the UK.
